ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023
About the project
For a country where cricket runs in the blood, the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 was the event of the year.
The 13th ODI World Cup, hosted across India and won by Australia, opened with a broadcast title built on the tournament's Navarasa branding, the nine emotions of Indian classical performance. We turned that into a surreal journey: cricketers moving through cosmic, larger-than-life worlds and resolving on the trophy.
Approach
Surreal, cosmic, celebratory; the nine Navarasa emotions as larger-than-life worlds.
What I did
I was driving the CG on the entire project and managing all relevant teams. The idea that cricket runs in the country's blood made the sequence a genuinely exciting one to explore, and we leaned into it: building multiple cosmic realms in Cinema 4D and sending the ball travelling across all of them. We captured motion-capture data so the players moved with real weight, everything resolving on the trophy.
