Equals
About the project
Equals is Anahad Foundation's documentary series on India's folk music, following folk artists whose lives shape their songs as they team up with producers from other genres.
The title follows a lone traveller who finds songwriting inspiration in nature and meets a community of artists on their own creative paths, until their differences dissolve in one shared space of music. Music is the great equaliser here, and the sequence moves from the individual to the community, from words to pure sound.
